Northwestern Mission/Vision Statement:
We envision a high school that provides academic rigor and diverse experiences that foster student empowerment through the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values essential for them to become college ready and successful, productive citizens.
Goals:
- To continue instructional practices that increase student achievement on site-based, state mandates, and college-bound associates.
- To expand the academic program so that it provides increased academic rigor, intellectual challenge, and communication skills.
- To increase the participation/involvement of parents/guardians in all aspects of the school.
- To increase the involvement of business/community partnership and alumni in providing resources to enhance and support the meaningful ninth grade academy and an effective Student Government Association.
- To aid students in the development of character and responsible citizens by providing a meaningful ninth grade academy and an effective Student Government Association.
- To implement a 9th grade Advisory Program focused on strengthening personal development, academic and leadership skills.
- To integrate and expand the use of technology in the daily instructional program to enhance teaching and learning.
- To recruit and retain highly qualified teachers and staff.
- To provide quality data-driven, research-based professional development for teachers and staff that will positively impact student achievement and ongoing program improvement.
- To incorporate the use of student support services that provide wrap-around/safety net programs tailored to meet the individual needs of all students.
